Circle Motif Brooches...

Assalamualaikum everyone... I've been gone for 2 months... plus? haha... School is torture... I have been so busy with school that I have no time to continue my crochet projects. I've missed crocheting so much, my hands got itchy so the two weeks break I had from school in June I used to crochet a few pieces. Ok... I made just 5. School is just taking a huge toll out of me that I am so mentally and physically tired to do more. Most of my time I used to just lie in bed and stare at the ceiling.

Well... Enough about me...

These 3 types of brooches took me longer than usual to complete but I am happy at how they turned out. Here are some close up pictures of the 3. (I'm sorry if the pictures are a bit dark... Lighting was bad that day)

Its a bit difficult to see but this piece is actually two layers sewn together. I think it looks pretty. haha~~

I have been making many circular crochet over button brooches that this idea struck in my head. This is so simple to make that I made 3 different colours of this design. The pictures are in my phone and I have not transferred them on to my lappy so I can't show you right now. I posted them on my Instagram so you can check them out. Username for my Instagram is sakinahstarr.
I gave this colour away though. Have to make more colours for this design. My aunts and cousins are interested in this. =B

This I made after I saw this design on Pinterest. Not exactly the same but it got me inspired to make something like it. I made this for myself initially but gave it away two weeks after its done. =D

That is all I have today.Will go MIA again, for a few more weeks only, I hope. Last lap of the school semester so I have to focus on my upcoming exams and project datelines. See you guys again soon! Assalamualaikum!

Crochet Violet Brooches

Hello everyone.... I'm back with these two pieces I've made over the holidays. Again they're brooches I made to sell. Not as nice as I saw on Pinterest but still a good try for my first crochet violets. Took me 30 minutes to complete one of these violets. More pictures once I've perfected this.

It has been so long since I've grabbed my needle and made something new. I miss it so but have been so very busy ever since school started for me. The workload this semester has been excruciatingly huge. The boxes of yarn under my bed have been collecting so much dust. I hope to be able to make something soon. Anyhoo... That is all I have for now... Will upload as soon as I made more during my free time. Toodles!

Six Petaled Crochet Flower Brooches

Hello again everyone! I'm back with two more pieces I've made over the weekends... These two are really just traditional 6 petaled flower brooches I made during my spare time. They take less than an hour to crochet and look just beautiful with the peral in the middle. They are still ownerless though I am really tempted to keep them as my own. The picture of the two flowers looked a bit lopsided. I couldn't get a good angle on the two so I just made do with this picture. I might post the pattern here in the future. Right now is time for me to hit the hay as I have school tomorrow. That's all I have for today. Till next time peeps!

Two Toned Crochet Flower Brooch

Hello everyone! I'm back with two pieces I've made over the weekend. These two were ordered by my aunt and cousin. Its slightly different from the purple one I did before in terms of the different center piece. Personally I prefer the jewels rather than the buttons but the jewels are so much harder to find than buttons here in Singapore. I have to search harder to look for it. I hope I find a shop that supplies them cheap and of good supply. That's all for today people! Toodles!

Crochet Brooch Chinese Pattern 2

Hello again everyone! I'm back to show you this piece I've made. It's supposed to be two toned as well but unfortunately, the two blues I used are almost the same shade so You probably cannot see the difference. This piece took me an hour to make. Its my first time making this pattern. My inspiration for this pattern was the Chinese Brooch I made before this. I decided to keep the petals at 6 instead of the usual 7 and I forgo the holes on the petals and decided to fill them out. Turned out better than expected.

My crochet skills have been improving and for that I am very happy and grateful. The sad thing is that school will be starting next week and I won't be able to crochet as much as I like. I would still definitely do it every night though. I can never stop crocheting. My stress reliever!

Anyway, I have completed many orders that I received last weekend. The pictures will be up soon in my next few posts. I am still struggling with crochet Bows. It is so difficult making them without a pattern but I love to try without referring to any patterns. Gives me great confidence when I succeed. I will never give up. Hope I master it soon.

That is all I have for now. Will post more tomorrow I think if I find the time. See ya!

Two Toned Crochet Flower Brooch

Hello again lovelies... This is another rendition to a brooch I've made before for my Aunts. You can find the pattern here on ravelry. Instead of it being all one colour, I used two colours to make it interesting. It turned out better than I expected for my first try at multi-coloured projects.

At the moment I have a few projects on my hands that I am struggling to complete with. Just last night I completed my cousin's order for a baby beanie for her little girl. I hope she likes it. Pictures will be up soon of my little niece with her new baby beanie. I cannot wait to let her have it. I had so much fun making it though I made many mistakes along the way and have to unravel it again and again just to make it right. Gets frustrating at times but its for the little girl that has me wrapped arnd her little pinky. It was worth it.

On another note, more brooches on the way. Once my orders are cleared, I am hoping to make a crochet bow brooch instead. I am getting quite sick of flowers. Hahah.... That is all for now. Toodles peeps!

Crochet Chinese Flower Brooch

Hello everyone! I am back again with another piece I crocheted over the weekends. These three pieces are the most difficult pieces I've made so far. At the request of my aunt who saw my pinterest post on this collection of chinese flower brooches, she asked me to crochet them for her. The one she picked was the dark blue one near the end of the collection of flowers. I couldn't make these as exact as the ones on the website but fortunately she likes them just the same. That is all I have for today... Tata for now lovelies!

Crochet Bow headband

Hello again lovelies! A short post of what I've made for my little cousin. She saw me with my changeable headband and asked me to crochet her one with a bow.

How to make it:
This piece is so easy to make. I made it 20 stitches across and used double crochets to build up the whole stretch to the circumference of her head. After thats done and I have attached the two ends together, I just bunched up the stitched part together to make a scrunched up bow and stitched the scrunch in place. To make it neater, I crocheted a small strip of 6 stitches across and and around 3-4 layers of double crochets up to cover the scrunch that I've made earlier so that it'll look presentable and seamless all around.

My little cousin was so happy to receive this headband... Unfortunately I've forgotten to take a picture of her wearing this piece. I'll get it the next time I see her wearing this. Thats all I have for now... Toodles!

Crochet Headbands

Hello again everyone... I realise I still have something I have yet to share... So here it is! This is a collection of removable flowers/charms I made for a changeable headband. One base and many different flowers/charms for a different look and feel to compliment my outfits.

I was inspired to create this piece when i realise that I had no plce to store the many headbands that I have made and owned. So this is a simple solution to my problem. It may look as though I own many headbands when in fact I onky own many charms. Haha.... Enjoy the pictures... I have yet to extend my charm collection... When I do, more pictures will be uploaded.

Below are the pictures of the removable charms attatched to the base by a button.

Below would be the pictures of the individual removable charms.

Thats all I have for you today... Till next time!

Another batch of Brooches

Hello again people! I have been busy crocheting brooches for my aunts and these are the results.

The crochet over button brooches were inspired by pieces I saw online I figured out how to make them so here they are. Not as perfect as I'd hoped but still quite an accomplishment for me. It took me about an hour to make these before I got used to it.

The piece above was inspired by this picture. I made this smaller for my mother.

The brooch above was done in less than 20 minutes and is easy to make. I did not refer to any patterns on this one.

I am selling all these brooches. So if you are from Singapore and are interested in buying any of these, Check out my Facebook Page, Handmade Crochet and PM me if you are interested.
Thats it for now! Toodles!=)

Crochet Brooch

Hello again lovelies! It has been too long since I've blogged my little crochet projects. Thing is, I've had many projects to complete and exams to study for... I didn't have the time to post things up. So here is my first post after a long break...

This little brooch took me around 20 minutes to make. I just love the colours on this yarn that I bought from Jogjakarta early last year. It has many fun colours on it and can be paired with many outfits I have in my closet. I believe I made this brooch in June last year and I have only worn it once.

This brooch is made up of two pieces of identical crochet flowers stacked together. This is a very simple project. Listed out below would be the pattern I used to make the flowers. Forgive me if there are mistakes as this would be my first time writing out a pattern. Hope it works out for you. Good luck!

This is for those who are not familiar with the crochet abbreviations I used fo the pattern:
Ch --> Chain
sl st --> Slip Stitch
dc --> Double Crochet
ch st --> Chain Stitch
sc --> Single Crochet
hdc --> Half Double Crochet

Ch 4 and sl st to 1st ch st to make a hoop.
Ch 7, dc into hoop. (This creates one petal.)
(Ch 5, dc into hoop) repeat 4 times. (Thus creating 4 petals.)
Ch 5 and sl st into the 2nd ch st on the first petal. (You should now have 6 petals.)
(Sc, hdc, 3 dc, ch 3, 3hdc, 3dc, hdc and a sc) into all 6 petals.

Fasten off and leave a long tail at the end to attach a button of your choice and a pin to make a brooch or you can also use the flowers and attach it onto a hat or a cardigan. It would look great on anything. Thats all I have for you people today! Have a good day and toodles!

My passion...

I'm in love with crochet.
A day without it seemed odd.
I'm too hooked to it.
Its not as bad as I thought.
At least now I never get bored.
